Nature’s surprise (open)

Tigercloud padded out of the medicine den after grabbing the correct herbs. It was almost time for forestfire to have her kits and she had to make sure she was by the queen when she did. Tigercloud saw smokestep pacing outside the nursery and smiled. everything will be ok." she said through the herbs then walked into the nursery after smokestep showed he calmed down a little bit.

(CloudKit, gingerkit, and frostkit(if approved) will be their kits)

Forestfire took another gasp as another wave of pain convulsed through her stomach. Forestfires eyes softened as she saw Smokesteps dark tabby pelt pacing outside the nursery entrance. 'its so great to have a caring mate like him. ' Forestfire thought lovingly.  Her face screwed up again as another wave of pain pierced her belly like a claw.  She searched the entrance for Tigercloud. Forestfire let out a relieved sigh as she heard voices outside the nursery, and then saw Tigercloud padding into the nursery. The medicine cat had a bundle of herbs in her mouth. Forestfire looked at her and asked, "How many do you think there are?"

Tigercloud was already chewing the chervil when she heard the question. "by the size of your belly maybe three or four." she said smiling then continued to chew the chervil. Smokestep stopped pacing and came inside to see if everything was going alright.

Forestfire swallowed the chervil and shuddered at its sour taste. She noticed that the pain eased as another wave pierced her body, but the pain still made her squeeze her eyes shut. She made a push and a small, wet bundle of fur slid into the world. She knew more were coming when she felt another convulsion go through her stomach.

Tigercloud gave more chervil to forestfire then started to clean the newly born kit. The cream colored kit started to breath as it was cleaned and mewed trying to find the milk. Smokestep helped by nudging the little kit to her mother.

(Ginger oldest, then cloud, then frost is youngest. Should we say there was four and say it died to add drama?)

Forestfire looked lovingly at the pale ginger kit and licked it's ear.  She chewed more chervil and swallowed just before another sharp pain went through her stomach. Another small kit, a pale grey one,  slid out onto the moss.

Before she knew it Forestfire had four small fluffy balls of feelings against her stomach. She looked over them lovingly, until her eyes caught on one that looked like both Forestfire and Smokestep. It had a tortoiseshell head and tail with a dark tabby body. The kit wasn't moving.  Forestfire nudged it and it still didn't move.  She looked worriedly at Tigercloud.  "What's wrong with this one?"

Tigercloud look at the tiny kit and licked it but the kit didn’t show any movement. "I’m sorry but she is gone." she said sadly to the newly mother. Smokestep licked forestfire and the three surviving kits. "what are their names?" he asked her.

Forestfire looked sadly at the kit. Even though she hadn't gotten to know her kit Forestfire felt strong grief.  She dipped her head to it and licked the side of the kits face.  Once she heard Smokesteps question Forestfire thought,  her eyes scanning over the kits. "I think the big pale orange one should be Gingerkit, for its ginger pelt. The light grey one should be Cloudkit, because it's grey and fluffy like a cloud. And the pale grey tabby should be Frostkit, because it looks like the morning frost in leafbare." Forestfire had always loved leaf bare when nobody else in the clan did. She scanned over their precious kit and murmured, "They're gonna be the greatest in the clan. "

Smokestep smiled. "those are great names." he said and Tigercloud nodded. She left the five alone then went to the medicine den to check her herb supply.

Snowstar heard the cats from her den and had gotten up to go greet them, she then found that smokestep and forestfire were having their kits! Snowstar walked confidently into the nursery and nudged forestfire, in her eyes grief was he main source from her dead kit. Snowstar Bowes her head and walked out and back to her den to get ready for the meeting At Highrock
